A useful filter, even very powerfull because it has the ability to prevent the dog's tongue licking dust on the surface of the lens of your camera.
Very common problem I know, since you either do not have the correct cleaning tools, or you do not have this filter installed, or it is really time to feed your dog! :)
It does not affect the quality of your shots, but greatly improves the stain resistance of oiled fingers, prevents scratches from vicious sand !
